EyeVision supports Adlink NEON-1040
The EyeVision image processing software from EVT now supports the smart camera NEON-1040 by ADLINK. The camera features 4 Megapixel, a frame rate of 60 fps, a global shutter sensor and the Intel Atom quad core 1.9 GHz processor.
Its robust housing is IP67-rated and the quad core CPU increases the computing power of the camera. The FPGA coprocessors and GPU in combination with the EyeVision 3.0 software deliver advanced image processing. This hardware and EyeVision software bundle exceeds the capabilities of conventional image processing.
The EyeVision software support and API compatibility enable easy migration from original x86 platforms and also reduces the time to market.

In addition, the camera is GeniCam, GenTL, Open CV and Open CL compatible.
The extremely fast smart camera with global shutter sensor is ideal for precise high-speed moving object inspection, such as verification of pill or tablet quality, blister pack contents, and label information and/or bar codes. With its M12 connectors, the NEON-1040 camera resists harsh environments, withstanding damage from moisture and contaminants. With powerful quad core computing and FPGA image pre-processing, the camera can process multiple complex inspection tasks simultaneously, and its open architecture x86 based application ready platform simplifies programming of customized inspection applications and use of existing x86 software without requiring new coding language expertise.

EyeVision software is available in Basic, Standard or Professional version. Also,special command sets such as OCR/OCV, Barcode, DMC or QR Code reading are available.

EyeCheck Smart Cameras with PROFINET option

PROFINET defines a network structure for exchanging data, alarms and diagnostics with programmable controllers and other automation controllers on the factory floor. It is the open automation standard for these complex challenges.
PROFINET is compatible with TCP/IP and offers industrial protocols for real time data transmission. The combination of Profinet and EyeCheck smart cameras fulfills all the real-time demands relevant to the automation world, and is well-suited for sophisticated applications, such as those in motion control.

EyeSens Vision Sensors now with Profinet option

EyeSens Vision SensorsIn Addition to EtherNet/IP, the EyeSens vision sensors by EVT now also support the field bus standard Profinet IO. This allows communicate with both of the most common communication standards of industrial Ethernet.
With Profinet, it is possible to create solutions for product engineering, process automation, building automation as well as the whole spectrum of the drive and control technology or synchronous motion-control-applications.
For the EyeSens vision sensors, conformity class A (CC-A) was used. This class makes fast real time communication and control possible. All functions of the discrete Inputs and Outputs (Trigger, handshake as well as all results) can be communicated via Profinet.
The time and effort of installations are reduced considerably with Profinet, especially in big plants with numerous sensors and actuators. First, there is no need for the complex IO-cabling of every single sensor. Secondly, the network integration is configured easily via drag-and-drop-function.
The EyeSens vision sensors contain specific EyeVision commands and are available for various applications such as OCR/OCV or bar code reading, object detection, pattern matching, measurement technology, color control, etc. The compact cameras are equipped with either lens and illumination or as a C-Mount version.

EyeVision 3.0 Now Supports LATAB Light Controller & Lights

LATAB Light ControllerEVT EyeVision 3.0 Machine Vision Software now also supports LATAB light controller and lights. The LATAB controllers are microprocessor-based and specifically designed to control all types of LATAB lighting heads.

The controller automatically identifies the lighting type by LATAB. The light intensity can be adjusted by a dimmer inside the controller. Because of the various types of adjustable light intensity, it is possible to preprogram different lighting types for even complex setups. Also, the ‘long flash’ feature can increase the light intensity up to 200%.

EyeVision 3.0 is programmable with the drag-and-drop function in the graphical user interface. The LATAB controller can also be integrated into the inspection program with a special icon.

The EyeVision 3.0 – the new release of the well-proven image processing software – now offers a graphical user interface (GUI) in Spanish. All commands as well as menu items and the new context help feature have been translated into Spanish. The software now allows easy creation of inspection programs in English, French, German, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and Spanish.
The GUI of EyeVision 3.0 supports the usual operating systems: Linux, Windows and Mac OS X. Additionally, the user can easily program via the drag-and-drop function, allowing inspection programs to be created with only a few mouse clicks- no special programming skills needed.
EyeVision 3.0 supports many camera manufacturers: Matrix Vision, BASLER, XIMEA, IDS, The Imaging Source, etc. The EyeVision 3.0 user can also create a stand-alone-solution for machine vision applications such as register mark recognition, position and rotation detection, solder joint and sealing inspection, closure and status inspection, carton folding and volume control, fill level inspection, inspection of glass and plastic bottles and color recognition.

Reading Container Numbers with EVOS Container Track

EVOS systemEVT (EyeVision Technology) introduces the new EVOS system for the reading and evaluation of container numbers for the railroad and shipping industries. The system consists of a compact processor unit, which is based on an ARM Technology, and the EVOS reading and evaluation software with integrated SQL database. The system can save and archive not only data but also images of several million containers.
EVOS Container Track is easy to install and it can be easily adapted to applications
in the transportation industry due to prefabricated profiles. Even under bad lighting conditions the EVOS software can read every number on the containers in
no time at all.
The container numbers allows for the definite identification of railway or shipping freight and carry important key data for the railroad and shipping traffic. They build a collective language between the railway company, infrastructure operators and the respective public authorities.
The EVOS system is reading, saving and processing the container numbers in a fast sequence. Additionally EVOS can be integrated into any vehicle identification system which needs an automatic OCR recognition.
The EVOS Container Track system can either work autonomously or can be operated directly by the user by connecting monitor, keyboard and mouse to the small processor.
The EVOS Basic Container Track processing unit is built upon a QuadCore ARM processor. The advantage of a QuadCore system is that the reading takes place within a few milliseconds after the capture of the image, allowing almost instant processing.
The EVOS processing unit is only a small box with the measurements 100 x 100 x 50 mm and is available with either with a 32 or 64 GByte drive. The unit supports up to 128 cameras, which are connected via Ethernet.
